I found that when Kim Sun Ah's hairstyle changed a bit in the last episode or so, and when it had a few curl-outs rather than rounded in bob, she looked quite nice. Who is Lee Hyun? It's an opposite of the usual where I get worried when an actor will go from romcom to heavier roles.Not only you , I am worried too about his romantic role. She shouts his name, and that catches him off-guard. No love lost for dead dad, other than for the upheaval brought about to the two sons.I'm in love with this series by the first two episodes alone! Could that person and that child still be alive?” This is why he’s returned: He has some homework to solve and a person to find.He returns to his old home and relives some moments of his childhood. Hyun looks at his father with hurt in his eyes, and Joon-young’s words echo in his mind: “Does your father trust you?” He thinks back to his interaction with Joon-young, who shared his understanding of the world. He closes his eyes to recall the memory and recognizes it as the time when he lost his father and younger brother in his childhood. They warn him about a dog thief in the area, and a flicker of fear flashes in Dad’s eyes.

He seemed more like a writer researching for a book than someone who knows criminal psyche.

I completely agree with our psycho D.O. With a crooked smile, Joon-young asks what kind of person he is, and Hyun simply states that he’s a person different from everyone else. I just can't put that into words as well as you have :( I haven't had the time to go back to re-evaluate the episode but I think that it is likely that he's relying on procedural information rather than putting himself in the killer's shoes.
