Sunsets from the Passage looking toward the Glasshouse Mountains in the distance are sensational.Bribie Island is a 45 minute drive north of Brisbane and a very popular weekend destination for locals.There are lots of accommodation options at Bribie Island including the recently opened Take the Bruce Highway to the Caboolture/ Bribie Island exit 152 and follow the signs to Bribie Island along Bribie Island Rd.To drive on the beach of Bribie Island you will require a Vehicle pass. Camping fees are $6.60 a night per adult.Known locally as just KI, Kangaroo Island is a very special place in South Australia.It is so different to anywhere else. 1.5 – 2 hours.We traveled to Kangaroo Island in early April 2017. South Straddie is only accessed by boat or ferry, there are no barges to the island.The North Stradbroke Island however has established townships and bitumen roads making it accessible to 2WDs.
